School appointments
One school appointment, two homes, fewer loose ends
An illustrative appointment story with a checklist for school notices, drivers and follow-up.

The appointment is one part of the day
Imagine Maya has a 2:00 appointment on a school day. One parent books it; the usual pickup belongs to the other home. School, both homes and the driver could each be working from a different plan. Maya is fictional, not a customer testimonial. Confirm the date, start time, location, expected duration and travel time. Identify what changes about attendance and the usual ride.
Choose who does each task
Agree who notifies school, collects the child, attends the appointment and handles the next handoff. If a helper drives, verify the school’s authorized-pickup process: app access does not authorize collection. Keep medical decisions and clinical details with authorized people. A logistics calendar does not replace provider instructions or resolve medical authority.
Prepare the notice—and actually send it
Life, Apparently can prepare a school notice for copying or opening in your email app, set a reminder and help adjust pickup after an appointment. You review and send the message yourself. Follow school absence, early-dismissal and sign-out requirements. A prepared notice or reminder does not prove school received it.
Close the loop
Confirm the next practical action: return to school, a changed handoff or a follow-up date. Update the shared plan and tell affected adults about time-sensitive changes. Child-linked events shared from Family Edition appear with the sending parent’s name. The bridge does not carry messages, medical records, documents or contact information.
