Custody & handoffs

A handoff plan for the next two weeks

A practical routine for drivers, locations, packing and schedule changes.

Life, Apparently Brand · October 17, 2026

Begin with the current arrangement

Review the next two weeks before making commitments. Check school closures, holidays, activities and appointments against the established custody arrangement. A planner organizes it; it does not change legal rights or replace an order. Request exceptions explicitly and wait for confirmation. A pending swap request does not itself change the schedule.

Name each ride leg

Record the driver, pickup and drop-off locations, and times. The person taking a child to an activity may not bring them home. Parents, approved helpers and teens whose driving eligibility both parents confirm can volunteer for open rides. App approval is not a license or insurance check: adults must verify eligibility and safe transport themselves.

Pack for the child, not the disagreement

Keep a short list of school materials, activity gear, clothing and comfort items. Marking a checklist does not guarantee an item is packed: check before leaving. Share necessary care instructions through the appropriate private channel. Put adult disagreements in a separate conversation rather than making the child carry them through a handoff.

Confirm changes where people will look

Update the driver and location when plans change. Tell affected people directly if timing matters. Life, Apparently brings handoff notes, packing progress and ride details together so each person sees the operational information their permissions allow.
